Maggie May Renewed

As I mentioned in an earlier post our Maggie May has not been well.  After many trips to the vet, we finally learned that she has a cancerous tumor in her bladder.  That's the bad news.  The good news is that she is responding well to an oral drug treatment.  We made the decision not to do any invasive procedures because of her age.  We did decide to start her on a treatment that can help to reduce the size of the tumor.  Not a cure, but at least a temporary fix to give her some more quality time doing what she likes to do!.   Here are a few  photos taken just a couple weeks apart.  You be the judge .... one before the treatment, and one taken after about 3 weeks on the medication.  Happier dog, happier family!

Can you guess
which photo was taken
Before the treatment
and which was taken After?

  1. Beautiful, I am glad it is helping. I think dogs shold live a hundred years in good health.

  2. She does look a whole lot better! When a dog gets old and has problems like this surgery is often not a good choice. The most important thing is to make them feel better so they can enjoy what time they have left.

  6. If there is anything that keeps us from going out and replacing our last dog who died in 1996, it is that they get sick and need care and it breaks our heart sometimes. But we always tried to do as much as we could for them as they were an important part of our lives.
