But maybe a little explanation.......
Between the years of 2002 and 2006 my husband and I volunteered at one of the many animal shelters in central Arizona in the United States. Each week I would photograph the new arrivals (the ones that were deemed adoptable) and post these photographs on the petfinder.com website. The lucky ones actually were able to find homes and that is what kept us going back every week to "do it all over again". It became very obvious to me that even though most of these animals had been through the worst of times, they seemed to be willing to forgive, wanting only to find someone to care for and love them. We used this saying to keep our spirits up while we did this sometimes very depressing work......."Saving just one dog won't change the world,
but it will change the world for that dog".
but it will change the world for that dog".
There are no need for words for me with those photos...but too many people need to know three simple words...

Beautiful post~~
Could not say it any better myself!
ReplyDeleteMJ I have a friend who would like to share blogs with you. She's at www.ditchdivingmules.blogspot.com . Her name is Jeanie.
ReplyDeleteI just logged on to her blog site and I am now following her site too. If she wants to follow back at me, she's certainly welcome to do so....;o)
ReplyDeleteBoth of my dogs are rescues. Most of the dogs we have had are...and they are so loving (must really appreciate receiving decent treatment). Cats too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for volunteering.
I love your words!!!!! They are truer than true. What you are doing is no doubt rewarding. You capture the soul of these animals in your photos. Great work. Hopefully your kindness becomes contagious. You just might consider writing those words to your local newspaper to be put in the letters to the editor section. I did this at Christmas about the same subject and I was pleased to find that they put it the caption in larger than normal lettering and they also put only mine, whereas there are usually 3 or 4. Your words are powerful here that the whole world should hear them.
ReplyDeleteI just have to comment again. What your photos capture is outstanding!!!
